What is the MLS (Multiple Listing Service)? The MLS is a computerized database of homes
currently listed for sale and is the most important and effective marketing tool
a REALTOR has to offer a potential home seller. REALTORS use this database to
advertise & promote their own listings and to offer a general invitation to
other real estate professionals to co-operate in the sale and share in the
commission, as well to show homes to prospective buyers. The vast majority of real estate transactions result directly from exposure on the MLS. Only real estate licensees that are members of the MLS are able to place & advertise homes on this vital resource. |
